Learn the language of Bingo
Even those who have never seen, much less play a game of Bingo to know that Bingo callers use phrases unique. Is almost like what they call a language professional should learn, but what some people do not realize is that it has a purpose beyond entertainment and uniqueness.
Bingo phrases and numbers actually give the player time to skim bingo cards to check and see if that number can be crossed out. Instead of having a break silence sepulchral room on the search for people with joy caller announces a number, followed by its associated phrase, and then repeat the number again. It is often known affectionately as the "Bingo Lingo" and is very specific. There are certain rules, a two-digit number consisting of two of the same digit (eg 22 or 44) will be announced as "All groups of two, 22" or "All fours, 44 '. There are, however, some exceptions to this rule such as the number 88 is "two fat ladies" (like two 8s because two fat ladies standing next to each other) and the number 11, which is "legs eleven".
The real jargon used in several different rooms and clubs. There are some more risque, like so-called 'dirty Gertie, number 30' and 'In Your place or mine? 69 'that a few establishments prefer not to use. Many of the calls are in fact derived from the famous London Cockney rhyming slang, like "Bang on the drum, 71 ", which gives a nice ring calls Bingo and they begin to flow to the other. If you've ever seen a room that simply calls each number after of the former, no kidding, anthropomorphism, cockney rhyming slang or phrases that separate them, then the atmosphere is much more boring and serious.
For the exact reason Bingo Calling entertainment is a coveted job. Callers love to tell friends and family what they do for a living as people tend to have a major interest in this race that is full of fun and never stress. The person with the Lingo Bingo is also the person who verifies the triumphs and calls "Bingo!" so it is an element of accountability to work, too.
Attend a room that makes use of these statements to call the numbers is an enlightening, but can be confusing. Some of the phrases used seem absurd and plain strange, and indeed some are quite artificial. This is what many people like bingo, because only fans know what some of the phrases mean, like '33, Sherwood Forest. Originally, 33 was "all triplets 'which sounds like' all the trees' finally 'all trees' was associated with Sherwood Forest, home of Robin Hood. Perhaps more obvious the Queen, 17 is "Dancing" as the song's lyrics go ABBA 'Dancing Queen, young and sweet only 17'.
Many of the calls are still used Bingo today are only applicable at the time of life long ago and therefore are a great way to connect with older generations, still love the game. Take, for example, 26 that is "Bed and Breakfast. The standard price of a night at a B & B in a number of years ago was 2 shillings and sixpence.
If you know what each one of the Bingo phrases or not, the game is very fun and you can learn what they mean on the progress of the experts. Who knows, maybe you could even witness the birth of some new Lingo Bingo Day One?
